Beef (or ground turkey to be healthy!) Burrito Skillet

What You Need:

  1. 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey (save yourself about 15-20% in calories)
  2. 1 packet taco seasoning
  3. 1 container of your favorite salsa
  4. 1/2 cup of water
  5. 15 oz can of black beans, drained
  6. 3 12″ flour tortillas, halved and cut into 1″ strips
  7. 1 cup shredded cheese (can be 2% milk for less calories)
  8. 1/2 cup sour cream
  9. 1/2 cup diced green onions

What You Do:

  1. In a large skillet, start browning the turkey or beef. Do not add any extra oil or butter.
  2. Drain the meat once it isn’t mostly pink anymore.
  3. Stir in the water, salsa, beans, and taco seasoning.
  4. Cook for ~5 minutes or until sauce thickens.
  5. Lower heat and stir in tortilla strips. Cook over low heat for another 2 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle cheese on top.
  7. Remove skillet from heat, and let cheese melt.
  8. Add in the sour cream and green onions. Stir and make sure all the flavors are mixed well together for deliciousness!
